Get a deeper understanding of cultural responsiveness in the LGBTQ+ community and learn about the intersection of trauma and victim services. This is a free virtual training for first responders and related professionals in Montgomery County and surrounding areas.

About The Event
A culturally responsive approach to victim service delivery can significantly enhance the services and support provided to LGBTQ+ victims of crime. This training will help participants increase their understanding of common terms and identities within the LGBTQ+ community. Participants will also identify culturally responsive resources and learn ways to minimize barriers to seeking services.
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Define and discuss language and terms used when working with the LGBTQ+ community
- List at least one culturally responsive resource for LGBTQ+ victims of crime.
- Identify two strategies to remove barriers to services for LGBTQ+ victims of crime.
