Advocacy Services 

We provide emotional support by specially trained crime victim advocates whenever you need it: at the hospital, during police interviews, and at court proceedings. 

What we do 

Our advocates provide support, information, and assistance to victims of crime and their loved ones. 

Advocates are available to 

  • Provide crisis counseling and referrals 

  • Accompany victims to the hospital, police station, and court proceedings 

  • Inform victims and survivors of their rights pursuant to the Victim Bill of Rights Act 111 of 1998 

  • Help with a Victim Impact Statement 

  • Assist with Crime Victim Compensation forms (VCAP)

  • Assist with Crime Victim Notification Program

Founded in 1974 as Women Against Rape, we have been supporting survivors and their families for more than 40 years.
