Culturally Responsive Victim Services for First Responders

As the field gains more understanding of personal histories and trauma, many first responders want to gain a deeper understanding of the intersection of trauma and culture within the provision of victim services. This training will discuss ways to enhance culturally responsive services, including the importance of language access and the use of trauma-informed response in working with victims of crime.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

• Define cultural responsiveness.

• Identify at least one tool that enhances language access for victims of crime.
