Crime Victims Law Project  

We help eligible survivors pursue access to justice as they contend with legal matters arising from victimization. Our attorneys are specially trained to assist survivors who have experienced trauma. 

The Crime Victims Law Project (CVLP) provides free legal representation to Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc. clients to eligible survivors of sexual assault and other crimes. 

The CVLP provides free legal representation and assistance to eligible victims with legal issues including (but not limited to):

  • Protection from Abuse Orders (PFAs)

  • Protection from Sexual Violence or Intimidation (PSVIs)

  • Child Custody / Visitation

  • Child Support

  • Spousal Support / Alimony

  • Simple Divorce

  • Sexual Harassment

  • Landlord-tenant 

  • Safety Planning

  • Creditor Intervention & Economic Advocacy

  • Name Change Petitions

  • School-based Issues

  • Title IX Proceedings

  • Work-based Issues

  • Immigration

Our mission is to provide advocacy and counseling for all who have been affected by sexual violence and other crimes against the person and to promote sensitivity and awareness in the community through education. Founded in 1974 as Women Against Rape, we have been supporting survivors and their families for more than 40 years.
